Staying Warm On Winter Boat Rides
Winter doesn't get too cold here in Florida, but the cooler temperatures can feel much more uncomfortable due to wind chill on a boat ride! With a little bit of planning, however, you can stay cozy despite the colder weather.
1. Store Blankets On Your Boat
Make sure to keep a few thick blankets on the boat in case it gets chilly. Fleece and wool are great materials for keeping you warm.
By keeping blankets permanently stored on board, it'll be one less thing you need to remember to pack each boat ride.
2. Dress Appropriately
Wearing layers is key when it comes to boat rides in colder weather.
Start with a lightweight base layer of clothing such as long underwear, followed by a mid-layer like a snug sweater and topped off with a waterproof windbreaker jacket. Make sure that all of the layers are breathable and thin enough for movement but thick enough for insulation against chilly winds.
If the weather starts to warm up, you can remove a layer or two to stay comfortable.
3. Bring Along Hot Drinks & Snacks
Bringing along hot drinks like cocoa, tea, or coffee is a great way to stay warm on boat rides in winter. Store drinks in thermoses so that they will retain their heat for longer periods of time.
By following these simple tips, you can make sure that your boat ride in winter isn't filled with shivers and goosebumps! For more tips or to explore boats for sale, visit Bob Hewes Boats.
