Partying on a Pontoon
Pontoons are well known as party boats, as they come with large open decks and plenty of seating to host friends, family, and everyone in between. If you’re making plans to host your very first party on your pontoon, we recommend reading our helpful tips below to help you prepare.
Food & Drink
When attending a party, most guests expect some sort of food or drink to be provided. Pontoon parties should be no exception—however, food and drink will be much harder to serve and prepare. Be sure to have a large cooler on hand to keep drinks and perishable food from spoiling, as well as plenty of utensils on hand to ensure guests aren’t struggling to serve themselves. To avoid having to prepare large amounts of food beforehand, or trying to cook on deck, we recommend sticking with simple dishes like charcuterie boards and chips and dip.
Entertainment
While there’s plenty to do on a pontoon, if you’re worried about keeping guests entertained there are a number of things you can do to keep their attention. Most pontoon boats offer a radio or USB port to allow you to play music, or you can bring along board games and a deck of cards to have a game night. If you have a mini projector you could easily hang a small sheet on your pontoon and host a movie night for you and your guests.
